Ahhhh, the perfect blowout. How is it you never really look as put together as you do when you leave the salon after a professional blow dry? Is there magic to hair care and achieving the perfect blowout or is it possible, just possible to do it yourself? Actually, it is as long as you follow the right steps.
A good blowout can last several days. Once you learn how to do it the right way and you take your time, you should be able to keep the look for several days. If you find hair is getting greasy, a bit of baby powder along the crown not only soaks up oils, it adds body.
Difficulty: Average-Hard
Time Required: 15-30 minutes for short hair, 45 min plus for longer or thicker hair
Here's How:
1.Start with freshly-washed hair.
If you have dry hair, condition in the shower. If you have fine hair, condition only the ends. Blot hair -- never rub -- with a towel to get rid of excess moisture. You can't do a blowout with super wet hair or it will take forever.
2.Apply product to towel-dried hair.
A good styling product is key to the perfect blowout. It adds body to fine, limp hair, while women with thick, curly hair need to keep the frizzies at bay. The secret is to coat every strand of hair with product.
If you have curly or dry hair, work in be Clarked "straighten up" and "shine envy". Start by coating the ends, working your way up the hair shaft. Finish by combing the product through hair.
If you have flat, limp hair, spritz be Clarked "ego boost" volumizing spray to maximize your haircut volume.
3.Break out the blowdryer.
If hair is still pretty wet, use a dryer to remove excess moisture before you start the blowdry or let hair airdry for a few minutes.
4.Separate hair into sections.
Divide combed hair into sections and secure with clips or ponytail holders. I find winding hair into mini buns -- two in the back and one on each side -- works best. If you have super thick or heavy hair, try dividing each of your sections. One above the other helps manage the blowout. Leave out a section to start with.
5.Start with your fingers.
Stylists know the secret to the perfect blowout is to start with your fingers. Pull your fingers through hair starting at the roots. Pull hair out a few inches and hold it while you use the dryer to shoot air at the crown on down. We call this powerdrying. It will save your arms in the long run. We don't recomend this with very curly hair though, it may start to frizz before you get to the round brush part.
6.Move on the round brush.
Now that your roots are dry, it's time to move on to a round-barreled brush, we preser a ceramic ion brush. Pull the brush through hair as you blowdry, pointing the nozzle downward onto hair (this helps with frizz).
7.Pull hair super taut as you dry.
As you pull the brush through hair, follow the brush with the dryer. Imagine there's a point six inches in front of your nose. Stretch the hair toward that point as you dry. It sounds crazy, but when you're done, the tips won't flip under or up -- they'll just sort of fan out over your shoulders.
8.Lock in style with the "cool button."
The last step for each section is to pull hair taut with the brush and blast it with cool air from your dryer. You can also each dried section up in a Velcro roller.
9.Continue through all sections until hair is dry.
10.Finish off with a be Clarked "shine envy".
Weigh down random frizzy bits with a shine serum or balm. Skip this step if you have limp, oily hair.

Veiling the Bride to be
There are many stories of the origin of a bride's veil. Some say that the veil was introduced in ancient Rome. People of that era believed that evil spirits would be attracted to the bride, so they covered her face with a veil in order to conceal her features and confuse them. The definition of veil is to "obscure, shroud, mask or cover, so perhaps that is how the bridal "veil" got its name.
It's also said the in medieval times, the veil was used to protect her from "the evil eye" and was a symbol of purity, chastity, and modesty.
Others say the the origin of the bridal veil was due to the circumstances of an arranged marriage. In days past, men bargained with an eligible young lady's father for their hand in marriage. AFTER the ceremony, the veil was lifted to reveal the brides features. This was to keep a groom from backing out of the deal if he didn't like what he saw.
Some say that the veil was used in days past as a symbol of a bride's submission and willingness to obey her husband.
Certain lengths of bridal veils got their names from how or where they were worn. At one time, Cathedral Veils were only worn in wedding that took place in cathedrals.
Well, times have changed the meaning of the tradition of wearing a bridal veil! Now, wearing a bridal veil:
•signifies a special event - A Wedding!
•signifies joy
•highlights the bride's appearance and features
•is the final crowning touch! Bridal Gowns are transformed with the addition of a veil.
The past history of wearing a bridal veil has given way to new traditions. Over the past 20 years, traditions surrounding the bridal veil have changed even more. Veils were worn more frequently over the face (a blusher). Now, you don't have to wear if over your face all all if you don't want to.
Brides of our day are making their own wedding veil history! Star Jones of the popular Television show "The View" wore a 27' FOOT long Veil--the longest known veil in history. It's dubbed the "Star Cathedral Veil". Her veil was two feet longer than Princess Diana's Bridal Veil.
It also used to be that brides marrying for the second time were not supposed to wear a veil, especially a white veil. Nowadays, it's perfectly acceptable to wear a veil (even a white one) for a second marriage if you want to! (Don't let anyone try to tell you different. It's YOUR day! If you want to wear it, go ahead!)
The wearing of a bridal gown and veil is one of the big days in a woman's life--Choose what YOU feel comfortable in and enjoy your special day! JUST DON"T OVER DO IT!
DO
-Wear a simple veil (i.e., single layer of tulle with either raw edge, pencil, or ribbon trim no wider than one inch) for an outdoor or daytime wedding.
-Opt for unique veils: a mantilla for a church or synagogue ceremony, to coordinate with and highlight the lace on your gown.
-Wear a cathedral veil at a traditional gown-and-church ceremony.
-Choose antique lace for a romantic, vintage feeling.
-A hat with netting works well with a City Hall white suit or cocktail dress.
-Keep with current trends and wear a veil lower in your hair.
-Wear a blusher for a traditional church ceremony.
DON’T
-Don heavy lace or embroidered veils at outdoor weddings.
-Wear the veil for the duration of the reception. Most brides take it off right after the ceremony, though some keep it on until the first dance.
-Have such a long, detailed, or complicated veil that it competes with the dress. Don’t go overboard with crystal trim, sequins, or embroideries.
-Fall victim to a crooked or messy veil. Put your maid of honor in charge of fluffing throughout the ceremony.
-Do tiaras unless they are very understated. Mikimoto makes simple pearl-and-diamond combinations.
-Wear a veil to your bachelorette party, please.

Adding Flowers,Hair Accessories and the fower girl
Adding some decorative pieces to your hair can add or take away from your look as a bride. You don't want to add pieces that will make you look like a walking satelite dish, so blingy that you can flag down an aircraft or have so many flowers you look like a walking garden. The idea is to draw attention to your face, not take away from it. You also want to keep your flower girls looking age appropriate, not like part of a pageant.

Fish Scale Lipstick and the perfect pucker for the wedding
Did you know that most lipsticks contain fish scales... Not a great throught when choosing a lipstick for your wedding day but we will explain this. The ingredient under discussion is called pearl essence. (Some sources give this as "pearlescence.") It's the silvery stuff found in fish scales that's used in some lipsticks, nail polishes, ceramic glazes, etc., to make them shimmery. Pearl essence is obtained primarily from herring and is one of many by-products of large-scale commercial fish processing. Synthetic versions have been developed, but to what extent they've supplanted the natural variety I hesitate to say. The cosmetics companies were not forthcoming and I got contrary stories from different industry observers. Fishermen still collect the stuff, though, and one presumes it's being put to good use.
Now on to How to acheive the perfect looks for your kissable wedding day lips:
Lip makeup plays a crucial role in all the makeup process, as if it is not done properly it can ruin your entire appearance by making you look ridiculous. When it comes to lip makeup there are a few tips and tricks in order to choose the right lipstick color or redefine their shape and make them look thinner or fuller according to the result you are searching for.
Whenever talking about lip makeup, there is one important and essential principle. Lip makeup has to be lighter if you have emphasized your eyes. In this case a lip gloss would do. On the other hand, if you want to bet everything on your lips, here are some useful tips.
•First, choose a lipstick color that suits you. For this, the draping step cannot be ignored. However, rules say that dark-haired women should go for red or maroon shades, blondes should choose lighter colors in pink hues, while for red-haired the best option is orange.
•Women having thinner lips should avoid dark red lipsticks that will only make their lips look even thinner than they really are. Dark colors are known as volume reducers, that's why women with thin lips should go for fair colors.
If you want to make them look thicker, pick a lip liner close to the color of your lipstick and make an outline outside your natural lip. Also, a shimmery lip gloss can add plumpness to your lips. Apply the lip gloss on lipstick or alone. Therefore, you should avoid lip gloss if you have thicker lips. Lipsticks can be matte, glossy, creamy or frost. You should know that a shimmery lipstick is better than a matte one as it makes your lips look fuller.
•If your lips are too thin or too fleshy, a good makeup could give the illusion of magnifying or diminishing you lips' size. For this, you need foundation, a lip balm, a lip liner, a lipstick and a gloss. Start by smoothing out the lip contour using foundation.
Afterwards, it will be much easier to redraw the contours of your lips, going beyond your natural contour if you have thinner lips, or on the contrary, making an outline inside the natural lip line if your lips are fuller. In both cases start in the middle point of your lips and go towards the corners of the lips. For thin lips, apply some lip gloss in the middle of the lower lip for thickness effect.
•If your upper lip is narrow, choose two lipstick colors, a darker and a lighter one. Apply the darker one on the lower lip, and use the lighter one for the upper lip. You can also apply a lip liner but only on the upper lip, and try to pick a shade that is close to the one of your lipstick. If your lower lip is narrow apply the same trick but doing everything upside-down.
•For shapeless lips, use a lip liner and make a "V" so you define the bow area going beyond your natural lip line, and then draw more curved lines to the corners of the mouth. It is preferable to apply lipstick using a lip brush.
•Lip makeup for mature women. It is a normal thing that as the years pass by the color and the shape of a mature woman to change. A lip liner is the answer in order to keep the lipstick from bleeding. Choose one that is close to your natural skin color. When getting ready for the big day many brides make the mistake of over doing the hair and make-up or under doing the hair and make-up.
