Making Maturity More Modern

As a special tribute to our mature clients we are going to focus on tips Making Maturity a little More Modern.

Nothing drags down a look more then the wrong hair color. Unless the Mature woman has had some work done, and I don't mean housework, she will want to stay away from dark, high maintenance or un flatterting hair color.

Going Lighter with Dark Color...
Most women should stay away from very dark color tones. Of course there are women like Kris Kardasian and Demi Moore who can pull off the dark hair, but they also have had a little help in preserving their look and they look fabulous. If you have the means to have those minor procedures done, then dark may be ok for you. If you are letting nature run its course, we recomend adding highlights if you are going to go any darker with your hair, or going with a mid-range chestnut color. The reason why.... You don't want to go with dark, because it will attract the eye to focus on other dark areas such as skin spots, under eye darkness and wrinkles. By lightening you lighten up your appearance. Check out these ladies who got the idea correct.

Grey Away...
As we age we get grey hair. Some of us more then others and faster then others. When it gets to a point where the touch ups are too often and have become high maintenance you can always start blending out your grey with Highlights and lowlights ratherthen solid color. With more color hair and less grey we suggest adding highlights and lowlights to soften the look and blend greay beautifully. Check out these ladies who defy aging with the technique...

Embracing Maturity...
Grey can be beautiful when it is the right tone. Too much grey can wash you out. The answer to this is adding lowlights to add some pepper back in to the salt and pepper look. Check out Jaime Lee Curtis as a great example of this...

Even men can look significantly younger by adding some color back into the grey with lowlights. The biggest fear men have is that they will be called out for coloring their hair. With gradual lowlighting the process can go unnoticed with amazing results. Just tell them if James Bond can do it... so can they. Check out these guys who got it right...

  1. PPD content in L'Oreal hair color prod. caused ER visit as woman in UK. I can't color due to this reaction so welcome hair cuts for thick, gray-patchy hair color.
